We provide safe accommodation open to women and children who can move in and be in a safe environment with space to think clearly about their situation. Our support staff are available 24 hours a day to offer emotional and practical support which is personalised to suit individual needs.
The safe house offers 7 private bedrooms, most with en suite, and several communal areas including two spacious lounges, a laundry room, a children’s playroom and large kitchen.
We recognise each persons situation is different and our doors are open for women to just pop in to speak a support worker in confidence, to stay with us a few nights or to stay for longer, up to 2 months.
Please feel free to give us a call at any time to discuss your situation. A formal referral from a professional is not required. Nor do you need housing qualifications to be able to stay at the Refuge.
The Refuge support workers are trained and experienced in supporting women who have experienced domestic violence or abuse. At the Refuge we understand and respect every woman’s right to have and maintain confidentiality. We are also sympathetic to the reality that this could be the first time that a woman has ever spoken to anyone about her experience, or sought to access help and support.
We strive to meet the needs of all the women who come to us for help.
