Part of our mission is to eliminate domestic violence through awareness and education, by providing free training to students around Jersey is a valuable part of our outreach teams’ work.
We are available for brief talks on the issue of domestic abuse and healthy and unhealthy relationships for any year group. Our Outreach team will tailor-make the talk to the need of the year group and the topic you wish to discuss.
We take part in the Bitesize Brook program delivered to Year 9 in several schools in Jersey. Our workshop covers Healthy & Unhealthy relationships.
We can help you implement the Women’s Aid Expect Respect Educational Toolkit in your school. This program consists of one easy to use ‘core’ lesson plan for each year group ranging from reception to year 13 and is based on themes that have been found to be effective in tackling the issue of domestic abuse. The toolkit is being used within schools, but can just as easily be used by a range of other professionals working with children and young people in a variety of settings such as youth clubs or play schemes.
There is also a 12-week programme called LINX developed by Hampton Trust UK, designed to work with children and young people who engage in violent or abusive behaviour.
